PRACTICAL TIPS FOR A PERFECT ELOPEMENT

Timing Is Everything

Consider the time of year. Each season in Squamish brings its own unique charm. Fall with its vibrant colors or winter with snow-kissed landscapes – choose what resonates with you.

I shot this wedding in June so it was bright but it did get a little chilly in the mountains. Remember to grab a jacket or sweater to ensure you stay warm. Don't forget those shades! We shot the photos at 11 am and the ceremony was at 1pm so we had a LOT of sunlight. When selecting your photographer, make sure they have shot there before and know the ins and outs because super sunny situations like these can make or break your photos if you hire someone that isn't experienced.

Weather - Ready Attire

Squamish weather can be unpredictable, so be prepared. A cozy shawl or stylish jacket can add warmth and a touch of flair to your attire.

TIP: It gets very windy up there! Consider keeping your hair in an undo or half updo hairstyle to avoid those flyaways.

For ladies, consider keeping the dress minimal and wear COMFY shoes. There is a LOT of walking! You have to walk through a suspension bridge that SWINNGGGS in the wind! For someone that is terrified of heights, this was absolutely terrifying but an incredible experience. I was fighting tears of joy and fear but your girl did it!

Ceremony & Photos

Make sure to speak with the venue to ensure this, but there will be a section blocked off for your ceremony overlooking the gorgeous mountains. You will have a lot of onlookers! Hope you're not shy!

TIP: speak with the venue to close off the bridge for your photos! We were lucky enough to block off the bridge from tourists for about 10 min to get the lovely shots! It's always good to speak with the venue about time because this may be less possible at peak hours.
